Availabilities are current and as up to date as possible. To request a booking online, simply fill out the reservation form on our site. Once your inquiry is received and approved, you will get an email from Festive West staff with a link and password to secure down payment transaction. This payment holds your room and prevents other guests from booking during your selected dates. Finally, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging approval of your payment. This email will include details about your room rates, down payment, policies and procedures, check-in times and other important information about your stay. If you do not receive a confirmation email within a few hours, please call us at (269) 366-4505 or email us so that we may verify your contact information and send to you a prompt written confirmation.
Festive West values the privacy of its patrons. As such, we will only request information from you which is necessary for a quick and convenient reservation experience. Our website stores your information securely, and we do not share it with outside parties.
Festive West does not retain your credit card information after processing the initial down payment. Guests are not required to use the same means of payment for the balance owed at the end of their stay. This allows for flexibility within the original reservation should details of the reservation change. Festive West accepts all major credit cards, cash, cashier’s checks, and traveler's checks. Personal checks are not accepted.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Always notify us as soon as possible when lodging adjustments are required. In many cases, changes can be accommodated with no penalty. For example, late or early check-in is typically permitted with advance notice. Cancellations must be made at least seven (7) days before scheduled arrival. Cancellations made less than seven (7) days prior to scheduled arrival will be charged 50% of the deposit amount as compensation for the inconvenience. While our staff is flexible and understands the nature of unexpected changes in plans, in the event of late cancellation or last minute adjustments to the schedule, Festive West reserves the right to withhold 50% of your down payment for their inconvenience.
Outside Meals beyond Breakfast
Because our bedrooms are decorated in high-end furnishings and antiques, we ask guests to refrain from bringing outside meals in to our bedrooms. Feel free to arrange use of the dining room, patio, or casual kitchen set-up- we are happy to accommodate your request.
We have our very own Mansion Mascot in Jericho Fernando Mucho Dinero Edison, our Maine Coon, long-haired cat. He is master of his surroundings and does not play well with other animals. We do not allow other animals or pets in our home for this reason. Jericho has free run of the common areas of our inn, therefore if you experience cat allergies, be warned you may not wish to stay here. While Jericho is a beautiful animal, his temperament is sometimes less than amiable so we ask you not to force yourself upon him at the risk of scratching or biting. This little bad man is a one person animal and your innkeeper, Shelly, is his "one and only!" Please honor his beauty and individuality by keeping a wide berth from him as much as possible.
Nightly Turn-down Service
This standard courtesy is performed for maintaining our quality lodging and bed covers. We will turn down the bed covers, perform a light tidying, and leave a lovely late night snack. If you wish to refuse this service, please notify the hosts so they may prepare the sleeping linens in advance of your stay. You will be asked to sign a release form that entitles management to perform an inspection of the suite before you check out; in the event of any damage to the room or its contents, a cleaning charge of $200.00 or a full replacement cost charge, whichever is greater, will be added to your bill.
Please inform us of any food or health allergies prior to your arrival. We will do as much as we can to make your stay a pleasant experience in the ways of foods and our toiletries and cleaning products. While Festive West aims to be a "green" establishment, advance knowledge will assist in allergy agent avoidance geared to you.
We do allow our guests to bring in outside alcohol for private consumption. We ask that you consider avoiding darkly colored wine/alcohol in our rooms as dark wines and alcohol stains are difficult to remove. Damage associated to the use/spilling of your alcohol may result in a $200.00 cleaning charge, or full replacement cost, whichever is higher.
Smoking/Illegal Drug Use
We are a non-smoking, non-illegal drug use bed and breakfast, and must insist that no smoking or illegal drug use occur within our home. Only Smoking is allowed outdoors, and we request utmost care and concern be paid to our grounds. (The use of illegal drugs is prohibited on the premises.) Please be considerate of non-smoking guests and innkeepers by preventing errant smoke from trailing near anyone or near any open windows. Please dispose of any cast-off smoking remains in receptacles provided upon request. If it is determined that smoking or illegal drug use has occurred inside and during your stay, a $200.00 charge will be assessed to cover damages, and you will be asked to leave immediately. No refunds will be issued for unspent time.
Guests assume responsibility for navigation of stairs and staircases.
Outside Grounds Rules
We ask you for help in maintaining a private and pleasant outdoor experience for all guests and innkeepers alike by respecting our grounds and gardens. Please feel free to enjoy our outside areas and be willing to share these common areas with other guests. Voices should remain intimate and music levels at a commonly tolerated volume. We all enjoy socialization and music, but we ask for your consideration during hours before 8AM and after 10PM. Loud guests during quiet hours may be asked to keep the noise to a minimum. Failure to oblige will result in being asked to leave with no refunds for unspent time reserved.
Off-street parking is available and required in the Stuart Historic District overnight. We can accommodate parking for our three guest rooms in our driveway, and in overflow situations, inside our fenced area where specified by the innkeepers. As we share the driveway with our neighbors to our immediate North, we ask for your consideration in parking your car in the areas provided and specified. If you require garage use, please feel free to ask your innkeepers in advance- if available, a one-time garage fee of $10.00 may be assessed for this benefit.
We have common, single control thermostats for our forced air heat and air conditioning. We ask that you inform us if your room temperature is uncomfortable either way. We will attempt to maintain an acceptable indoor temperature (68–72 degrees during the cooler months, and 68–75 degrees during the warmer months). As we have an older home, temperature control can be an issue. If your room is too cool during the summer months, feel free to close your heating/cooling vent, or slightly open the one operable window in your room. Please do not attempt to open any sealed windows without screens. If your room is too uncomfortably cool during the winter months, feel free to ask us for a portable heater. Just be conscious of turning the unit off when not in use, and adhere to common sense energy and safety practices.
Taxes & Fees
In accordance with Michigan law, we are required to charge and collect room rental taxes. We may collect this tax outside of and in addition to the rental fees paid to third party booking sites (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.) if applicable to your method of reservation. Additional fees may apply. Room rates vary by room reserved.
Damaged or Stolen Property
We've not had any issues, however we ask you to practice safety for your valuables, (car, personal belongings, etc.) by locking your car doors and rolling car windows up at all times. Please lock your room door at all times. Please make certain to close and lock all inn doors behind you. Do not leave valuables visible in your vehicle or in your room. Please help us protect our lovely home by treating it as you would your very own so we can continue to provide a positive and safe experience for our valued guest for years to come. In the unlikely event that your stay results in the loss or damage of Festive West property, you may be assessed a damage fee comparable to the cost of repair or replacement.
